A Month

It's hard to believe that it's already been a month since little "Anna" has come to stay with my family.  The first few weeks were difficult, and not because of her but the circumstances and the others involved.  I have never been very good at just saying what I want sometimes, or telling someone what I need.  Once I worked out the details and made a plan that worked for my family & not someone else things have been less stressful and much more comfortable.  I try to make everyone happy sometimes and then leave out the most important person, myself.

We don't really know how long we will be foster parents to little Anna, but we have already bonded she and I.  I blame it on the 2am & 5am feedings-as well as all the other feedings.  She likes it when I sing to her, now that she is almost one month old (four weeks already) she is starting to smile when I sing to her.  And the smiles she has produced so far are that of pure joy & they elicit tearful laughter from me.  So when she goes back to her parents, she will be missed & it will be a hard time for us emotionally.  But we'll manage, as we always do.

Until then, we will continue to do what we feel is right & what we feel is good.

Drained

I am worn thin. Tired of being worried, tired of being bullied, tired of being stressed.  But not to tired to give up and just turn my back on someone special.

Miss O is 6 Mo

In our house she goes by many different names: monkey, pumpkin butt, Miss O, Livey, Olivia (of course), and the beast....all said in a loving manner.  She's starting to sit up more these days-and can sit for a while now without falling over-she turns into the beast when she falls over-or isn't pleased lol.  Here she is, very pleased!!!!

That last one cracks me up, she made this sound that scared her and that was the face she made-lol

Savannah-Banana

Well so far we are really enjoying having Savannah live with us for a few months while her mom and dad work out a few details in order to get her back living with them.  We have never fostered a child before, and it really is a wonderful thing being a foster parent (aka Aunt leelee).

Here are a few photos I was able to capture of little Miss S on a sunny afternoon this weekend.  I hope you love them as much as I do!

not as strong as me

Life is so twisted sometimes, giving us things we never even imagined could ever happen to us.  Some happy, some dreadfully painful.  It truly is amazing what the human spirit can endure.  I am living proof of that.  This time last year, I would have never dreamed I would have a six month old step daughter, born to a woman who tried to tear my family apart-along side with my confused & displaced husband.  This time two weeks ago, I would never have dreamed that my niece Savannah would be born & placed into our custody either.  Some tell me what a burden I bear, some tell me they just couldn't be as strong as me.  No one ever says, minus my beautiful daughter "what a blessing" "what blessings".  It is easy to frown upon someone for the choices they make.  I do not condone the behavior of this desperate woman or my lustful husband.  I merely do what I feel is right.  I always do what I feel is right, regardless of the evil going on around me.

I will walk away from every situation with my head held high, and not be ashamed of my actions.  Most people can't say that.  I feel blessed with these two girls, and I feel proud of myself for not caving and giving up when the devil was knocking at my door.

If you don't get that, that's okay.  Remember, you're not as "strong as me".

Oh, and just to make you smile-here is a photo of one of the blessings :)

My darling niece, Savannah Jewel, two weeks old.

New Addition

Good morning & hello.  We have a new addition to our family, my niece Savannah Jewel Homblette.  She was 6.13 pounds of bouncing baby girl.  She is currently living with Billy, myself & the boys until her parents square a few things away.  Isn't she pretty!?  She's keeping us on our toes-so not sure how often we'll be blogging.  Pray for our family, in my house & beyond :)
