Army Strong?

Well, today is the day that Gavin is going into the Army Recruiter's office and signing up. That's his plan anyway, he likes to procrastinate like his momma-so I don't know if this will happen or not, but my heart is not sure how to handle the pending possible departure of my first born son going into the Army.  I was certainly hoping he would be going into the Navy.  I have talked to 100 people & have been told 100 different stories, but pro Army & pro Navy-depending on who I talk to.  But the facts are, he's 18 years old & he is making up his own mind about it regardless of his momma thinks.  So I have decided to stop rolling my eyes, and stop complaining each time he talks about it & just show my support.  What else can I do?  I love him and want the best for him, and since we are not a "rich" family & he doesn't want student loans-this is happening, one way or another (unless he's got some medical issue we don't know about).  Pray for us.

Another Fun Weekend

Saturday morning, we all got up and headed to Poe Springs to meet up with my sister, her family & my dad, stepmom & baby brother for a picnic & some much desired swimming (by the boys).  We had a great time, despite the extremely long walk to the spring & the weather that forced us to leave before the park closed (we had planned to stay until 6pm).  I didn't bring my big camera, again-so please feel free to enjoy these few photos I was able to capture with my iPhone.  Now, mind you-I would have taken some of the boys - but they were sort of wanting a mom-dad free swim zone.  My sister did capture two-see the bottom....lol  And O, well I was worried she'd hate the springs-but she loved it-I mean LOVED IT!!!!!  She was squealing and laughing, had other moms gathering around just to watch her enjoy the water.  She made everyone smile & laugh.  It was awesome!

(woo hoo-Selfie-Saturday)

Sunday, Xander woke up with a swollen mouth.  He has a cavity in one of his baby molars & the dentist has told his mom that they won't do anything about it twice now, and since he's 10 and doesn't really take care of his teeth like he should-this is the result of that.  Oh we have to nag that child to brush his teeth.  Anyway, Billy had already committed to go to my parents to help my dad work on the pool-after he squared away Xander getting picked up a few hours early he set off for that adventure & I stayed with the boys to get them to their other parents.  O & I headed to moms after that.  (Xander is fine btw-his mom took him to the doctors & got him on some meds & he saw the dentist the next day & they are removing the tooth-FINALLY)

Again, due to playing with the baby & enjoying family-I didn't capture much-but here is what I did capture :)

I was home with O all day on Monday & she was my little shadow-I literally couldn't do anything without a. taking her with me, or b. having her follow behind me all the way.  By the end of the day, when it was time for a bath her little knees were pretty red from all that crawling.  But we had a great day!!
She's learned to make sounds with her tongue-and she especially loves watching herself on the iphone while doing it lol.
An example of her by my side-begging to be let up into the chair with me (which I did of course-but not after I put my rubber hand in her hair lol)

Maleficent was Magnificent

We had date night on Friday & it was fantastic.  So good to do something that wasn't baseball, cooking or anything home like related for just a few hours.  We went & saw Maleficent and ate extra buttery popcorn.  I must say, the movie was great.  I loved it in fact.  It was sweet & it reminded me a lot of my relationship with Miss O.  I feel it is a must see :)

After the movie we grabbed some dinner at the OG, which for some weird reason is one of my most favorite places to go these days.  They just have this dish called Steak Gorgonzola and it just makes me mouth water thinking about it. It's basically Alfredo, with steak on top of it drizzled in a warm balsamic glaze & Gorgonzola mixed in.  Yum Yum!  I get it EVERY time.

This weekend, we have some fun things planned as well.  The gulf, movies with a friend, the gulf again (different area) and maybe even a mini session with a little cutie.  We were suppose to shoot together last weekend, but alas the weather ruined it for us.  Hopefully the weather will be kind to us this weekend, considering all the outside activities we have planned.

I hope you all enjoy yours!

These days....

I'm always thinking ahead and looking forward to the future but I need to focus on today and make sure I fully live it. :)

Life has been so busy these days, the husband and I only see each other in the evenings after 8:30pm & that's just for a few hours before we finally crash in the bed after a very long day on each of our parts.  I am cooking, cleaning, blogging & editing photos while he's at baseball practice every night.

It's the summer & the boys are scattered, so most of the days I am home after work alone. It's quiet & I use this time to not only clean our dwelling but to reflect & think about the future.  And we have a great future, our past-well that's questionable-but our future is looking wonderful.  I am looking forward to so many things.

Love's Tragic Sometimes.

Oh the lengths you'll go for love.  Love really is a tragically horrible word.  I have lived a tragedy in love.  One that almost tore my entire family, my world apart.  But through prayer & reflection, I was pushed down the path of forgiveness.  I decided that I could & I would forgive the one that hurt me the most & the one that inflicted this sorrow in me.  Two years, I have walked this path of sorrow & tried to not only rebuild my marriage-but rebuild myself.

Infidelity doesn't just cause marriages to break up-but it also causes physiological issues in the person that was cheated on.  Meaning, I sat around for more than a year wondering why I wasn't loved enough, good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, smart enough, hardworking enough, sexy enough to keep my husband faithful.  It took me a very long time to realize it didn't have anything to do with me.  It had to do with two other people, this wasn't & still isn't about me at all. My husband was the one that wasn't good enough, he wasn't good enough to be with someone like me-so he left, to pursue something that was on the level of how low he had plummeted.  It's taken a long time for him to build himself back up, in my eyes-but most importantly in his own eyes as well.  It's tragic, I told you.
