Illinois

Well, last minute I decided to try to make the long drive to Illinois for my Grandma Martin's 90th Birthday Party.  Dad had asked me a few days prior if I wanted to car pool & so I thought about it for a few days & then decided I would try.  I got the time off & worked out some details and rescheduling for the photography business.  Called dad after that was all worked out & he had already bought a plane ticket to fly up.  Alas, I wasn't sure what I was going to do-so I called my mom and asked her if she would drive up with me, and she agreed-we talked Molly into going too!  It was a fun yet exhausting trip!

We arrived in Golden Eagle late Friday evening.  Spent a little time talking to Grandma & a few other family members who stopped by for a squeeze-then off to sleep we tried to go.  I don't think any of us slept well the entire time we were there.  Saturday we spent the entire day with the Haug side of the family.  We had a big cook out and almost everyone was there-all moms sisters & both her brothers were there.  After dinner and it got dark, we had a fire & sat around talking & having a few beers.  Sunday morning we got up and headed to my Aunt Barb's in Godfrey-to hang out with her a bit before grandma's party.

Boy what an emotional mess I was that day.  I just kept crying & couldn't stop myself from all the emotions I was feeling.  It was rather ridiculous actually.  You would have thought I was at a funeral or something.  I wasn't really able to hold myself together-though I tried.  I even cried when I called Billy to tell him how wonderful the party was.  It was great to see my family again, though some times I felt a bit like a stranger.  I wish I would have been able to grow up with these fine folks & really had gotten to know them.

We plan on trying to make another trip in the Summer of 2016 when the kids are out of school.  I can't wait to show them all around the county & let them swim in Aunt Susans & Aunt Barb's pool!

Heart Break Swing

Olivia fell off the swing today at the park. And when she realized she was okay had several remarks that she told herself and me!

1. I need to be more careful.
2. I don't want to fall off and hurt myself.
3. I'm gonna be more careful next time.
4. Mama you pushed me to hard.
5. I almost broke my heart mama.

Wedding Photographer Clothing

Help.  I need a little help.  For years now I have been in search of a really pretty black dress to be able to wear to weddings, as the photographer.  Maybe, I shouldn't even wear a dress-maybe I should wear leggings & a really long tunic.  IDK.  I need help deciding.  Here are a few ideas I had.  Please share your thoughts!

or maybe

or maybe just black pants, black shirt & black shoes?

Toms for Us

So I finally have lost my mind.  I have finally done that weird thing that people do with their kids & got matching shoes with Miss O.  Yeah, maybe it's time to be committed.  I have never looked down on parents for being matchy matchy-but it always made me laugh & think "that's weird"....until today!

I was searching to get Miss O some cute brown canvas shoes to wear this fall/winter.  I settled on some www.toms.com.  Cute shoes for a great cause, each pair of shoes you purchase a pair of shoes are sent to a child in need in a developing country.  Yep, so I bought her a pair & thought-they are so cute-I'll just get me a pair too!

And in two seconds, we became matchy matchy weirdos!  But at least we'll be weirdo's together ah O?

Weston-13

One of the things that Weston gets to do for me aside from assisting me at shoots is that he is a test subject for me to set up my camera for the lighting.  Of course, he's not smiling-of course-but that doesn't take away from his handsome little face.  What a sweet kid.  I am a lucky mama to have such a great little soul.

Enough Already!

We have been the house of sickness for almost an entire week.  Billy had to get off work early to pick up Olivia from school last Thursday & we have all followed suit with her puking since picking her up.  It's just lingering on, slowing taking it's time to exit our lives.  Ug, I am done with it already!

On a happier not.  I finally bought a mini design kit for my business.  I have made so many of my own & just never have been totally happy with it...soooo here goes-letting someone else do the heavy lifting for me.

LJP Holiday Photos.

So, I am in the process of making plans for our holiday photos with the kids.  Now, I will either do them myself of just the three remaining kids left living at home or I will hire a photographer to take some photos of the three of them, with myself & Billy.  I am inclined to stay out of the shot-but I would really like to have at least ONE good family photo out there for me to use!

As for outfits, everything must match & go around Olivias-here is what I have so far...what do you think!?!?

Throw them in some jeans & their boots...and done!  As for myself-I have no idea what to wear....a bag? lol

It's Shooting Time Ya'll!

So, it's that time of year again when I drive myself crazy being unorganized and undisciplined and unable to say no to clients.  I have already purchased my 2016 planner & I just love it so far.  I just hope it does it's job & keeps me straight.  I know I have to play some roll in keeping it up-to-date & looking at it, but at least step one is complete....

1. purchase a planner

Now step 2 can be completed, filling up the planner.

I started off the Fall 2015 schedule doing a maternity session.  We met up at my sisters house, first time using her place.  She has a very pretty area next to her house down in a hollow with a running stream (it's brown don't get to excited), lots of trees & just the woodsy feel that I love so much.

This coming up weekend, I'll be shooting a couple....very much looking forward to that-because those that know me should remember-I love shooting couples!!!!

I did my schedule a bit different this year, I learned from being over stressed and swamped last year about this time to just say NO to over booking.  I have not double booked sessions on the same weekend, leaving a day every weekend for editing the previous weekends images.  This will hopefully save my sanity & the ears of my husband.

I have a session booked with my friend Christine & her family coming up as well.  I thought about seeing if they wanted to meet me at my sisters house for their photos-I think they'd like it.......maybe I can talk her into it :) though we were leaning towards more of an urban feel.  There are some great places in Gainesville to get that feel as well as Lake City-oh the options are limitless hu?

Well..happy Tuesday!

Ooo before I forget-THE PLANNER!!!

Maylee & her friend....

So, I had a maternity photo session on Sunday.  I got there a little early & Maylee had her friend Kadence over & they were playing with some make up & wanted to "model" for me before my client/model got at the location.  Here is a few snaps.  It's fun when kids actually are willing.
